| COOLING
- often overlooked, but one of the key factors affecting system reliability.
Elevated operating temperatures lead to premature failures of electrical
components and a gradual performance degradation. A 15°C (27°F)
temperature rise will reduce the operating life of most electrical components
by as much as 50%.
Our 4U rackmount offers unmatched cooling capabilities. We upgrade the factory configuration from one medium duty fan to two 120mm high flow, heavy-duty fans that push approximately 200 CFM of air through this case. All our cases are upgraded with special long life (high MTBF - 100,000+ hours @ 25°C), high flow cooling fans. These fans typically move twice as much air as the factory installed fans and will last two to three times longer. Additionally, internal cables are specially routed to eliminate air flow restrictions and improper flow paths. Improved cooling reduces system failures, allows for added system options, and ensures your system will run stable for years. |

POWER SUPPLIES - they are one of the more common components to fail in a system. Typically our systems our upgraded with long life (MTBF of 100,000 hours @ 25 C) power supplies that have redundant cooling fans. Typical power supplies are rated about one half the life span of this unit.

| Additional reliability is achieved with redundant power supplies. These units are specially designed to ensure your system continues to function if one power supply unit fails. An audio alarm provides notification of failure situations. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| HARD
DRIVES - another common source for system failures as they contain
moving parts and generate heat. For the IDE type hard drives, we have
selected high RPM drives (7200RPM) because they offer the longest MTBF
ratings in the industry. They are rated at 60% greater MTBF than most
standard speed IDE type hard drives. SCSI type hard drives would be the
next step up in terms of reliability. SCSI type hard drives offer the
longest MTBF ratings as well as the highest data transfer rates. Finally,
a Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) solution, which offers drive
redundancies, is the ultimate in reliability. IDE RAID solutions are available
offering the improved reliability of redundant hard drives at very affordable
pricing. |

CARD RETENTION - shock and vibration conditions may cause expansion cards to backout or unseat resulting in failures or intermittent system errors. Secondary retention devices are added to ensure a solid connection between the system board and expansion cards.
